Tell the people about yourself.

– I’m 26, from the Southside of Chicago. I’ve always been a musical person, since I was a shorty. Going from singing in the church, to playing piano by ear, and trumpet in band, I’ve always had an affinity for all types of sounds. Right before I went to The University of Iowa for college, my love for creating original music with lyrics began. At first it was more of a hobby, but after freestyling on stage with A$AP Ferg my freshman year, winning several annual BSU talent show and every Freestyle Friday, I decided to take it seriously.

Do you have any tips for artists?

– Be YOU. Unapologetically and Authentically YOU. Nobody can do that better than you, so might as well. You can’t be Kendrick Lamar, you can’t be J. Cole, you can’t be Drake, you can’t be Lil Baby. Be the first you, and the best you. Not everybody is going to like your content/music, and everybody has an opinion about something. Just be confident in yourself, and practice and perfect your craft. It’s not enough to manifest and hope something good happens for you- you gotta put in the HOURS to be the greatest, unless you’re just content with where you are. None of the NBA Legends got to where they are without the grind. So be you, and perfect your craft!

How long have you been making music?

– I cooked up my first song with my boy during my Junior year of high school. It was a remix of J. Cole’s “Who Dat”. I didn’t start making consistent, and original, music until 2014/2015, though. Either way, I got years in this.

What are your music goals?

– To be an impact. To be the best. To be acknowledged the way I know I should be, and if not, to give fans and others something they can connect and listen to. To win a GRAMMY, and I don’t care what nobody has to say! That’s been a goal of mine since I was 12, thinking I would win one for my trumpet! I have a looooong list of artists I want to work with and I’m actually versatile enough to make it happen because I can’t be boxed in. I would love to work with artists like Kendrick, Cole, Big Sean, Tinashe, The Weeknd, Guapdad 4000, Kanye, Uzi, Camila Cabello, A Boogie, and that’s only scratching the surface.

Who or what inspires you to create music?

– I have quite a few inspirations. Like wanting to retire my Momma from being a teacher and make a way for her and my Dad to travel around the world and do the things that they want to do, amongst other inspirations. But I just want to be a voice for the voiceless. Not on no cliché shit or nothing like that, but I really feel like the music has been missing a lot lately. It’s missing passion. It’s missing competition. It’s missing creativity. It’s missing people who actually care about music. I don’t make music for people to “like” it- I make music when I feel something. I want you to live with me in my songs, not through me. It’s much more of an experience, and you can really feel me. So if I’m bragging or talking tough, I want you to feel like you’re doing the same. If I’m making something sad or reflective, I want you to feel those emotions and connect. But I know music is beauty, so it’s in the eye of the beholder, so your experiences will be your own- just know I’m bringing passion. I also love to grow. I stay as humble as I possibly can, and I know I still have a lot to learn in this game- I just love the process!

We had to ask… who are your top 5 artists?

– That’s always toughhhh. If I’m doing my personal Top 5 “at the moment”, I’m going J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West, Myself, and either Big Sean or whoever I’m playing the most at the moment! Just to leave that door open. I been listening to Dreamville, Tinashe, and K. Dot the most though, lately.

Where can people find your music?
