Tell the people about yourself.
Pone Pacino was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. Home to fellow native Louisville artist such as Jack Harlow & EST Gee. Growing up on the south side to a single mother and a father serving a life sentence for murder in the 90’s wasn’t easy. A toxic childhood fueled by trauma & abuse left Pone with no option, but to grow up fast. So when you listen to his music you’ll hear a strong influence from the pain & struggle of the streets. Been making music since the late 1990’s as a kid, Pone Pacino was heavily active in the streets. Having one foot in the music and one foot in the streets ended up costing him record deal opportunities and landed him in prison. In the mid to late 2000’s labels were showing interest in Pone (formerly Siccapone). However, he could not leave the streets alone long enough for anything to materialize before returning to jails and prison. While in prison, 2 weeks before making parole his younger brother and fellow artist “Big Cheese the Hoogie” was murdered due to gun violence which is still unsolved to date.
Do you have any tips for artists?
If I could give any kind of advice it would be to stay out of your own way and invest in yourself. No one is going to hustle harder for you than yourself. Don’t have any expectations because they will let you down 99% of the time. Always ask questions and have attorney’s present for everything. In the music business there are no friends. That’s why it’s called the music “business”.
What are your music goals?
My goals are to create timeless music and generational wealth for my family and kids so they can have opportunities and a life that I never had.
Who or what inspires you to create music?
My family is my biggest inspiration. I’ve made music with platinum selling artist.I know that I’m talented and have the ability to spank anyone I get on a track with. Although that excites me and keeps me competitive, it’s my girl’s that inspire me to go “all in”.
We had to ask… who are your top 5 artists?
My influences have such a range it’s damn near impossible to narrow it down to 5. My playlist will go from NWA, Moneybagg Yo & Mozzy. To UGK, RA the Rugged Man & Lil Peep. I love music so it all speaks to me in it’s own unique way.
