Tell the people about yourself.
DON.XTENDO, I’m 21 years old from Baltimore County, Parkville, Maryland and I’m a rap artist. I was always a creative since I was young. One of my biggest influences was my older brother. I’ve seen him go from being a DJ to rapping to producing beats to doing photography and then directing his own film. For a long time that’s what success looked like to me…being able to commit but not being afraid to grow.
Do you have any tips for artists?
Consistency and work ethic is key, to success and do not let any unfortunate situation hinder or slow down what you are working towards, because at the end of the day it’s only temporary. I’m still learning to practice what I preach but so far so good.
How long have you been making music?
I have been making music for 3 years so far. It’s been on and off because of the fact at times I was down bad, dealing with a toxic relationship, personal issues and just not feeling inspired. Being able to bounce back stronger than ever is a blessing in itself. Honestly I hope to be making music for a while.
What are your music goals?
Obviously to be able to make enough to live off of something I have a passion for, but also Influence others. I want to be able to leave an imprint on rap in some way and live long enough to be able to see the impact of my legacy. I used to be super lyrical but as I get older I hope to be more potent when it comes to songwriting.
Who or what inspires you to create music?
It’s a mixture of seeing other people work and my own experiences. One thing that always gets me in that mindset is when I watch the Dreamville Documentary and seeing how creatives come together to make something dope. As I get older I find it easier to rap about the human experience than to just rap about anything.
We had to ask… who are your top 5 artists?
Westside Boogie
Denzel Curry
JUICE WRLD
Joey Badass
